How these payments are getting done for the Sassa R350 grant

When you are approved for the Sassa R350 grant, you can choose from a couple of payment methods. You don’t just need to visit your nearest Post Office to get paid. There are a couple of other methods you can choose from as well.

  • Direct deposits into the beneficiary’s bank account. No other bank account will be used than the beneficiary’s bank
  • Mobile money transfers through cell phones. Again, only the registered number of the beneficiary will be allowed.
  • Through the South African Post office to post offices and certain stores. You will get an SMS when and where to collect your grant.

You need to remember that you can change the payment method for your grant, but you will need to wait a full calendar month before the change will be made successfully.

Getting paid through the Post office pay point, it is important to know that you don’t get all paid on the same date. Different people are getting paid on different dates.   • You can only get it deposited in your own bank account that is registered in your name

  • When you are using the bank deposit option, you will pay banking fees for the transactions that have been made. Even for the deposit of the money into your account.
  • If you are a student with an NSFAS bursary, you will not get the grant payments.
  • When you changed from collecting to a bank account, you need to know that it will take 30 days before it will be paid into your account.

Nov-December no payment dates

There are a couple of days in December when there aren’t any payments made. The reason is that it might be days for other Sassa payments, public holidays, or weekends. The important thing is to know when there aren’t any payments made for the Sassa R350 grant. No payments are made on:
